From "the bearded-dude-meets-hot young-socialite" department: yes, you can Twitter form the command line. Jack Wallen posts a How-To for Twittering with Twidge.
His well-written article is here.
It seems almost an oxymoron. On the other hand, some might view Twidge as a euphoria of CLI goodness. To each their own. I know many Linux users who prefer to do anything via the CLI (Command Line Interface), if possible. That's definitely not me (I prefer my Linux software wrapped in KDE / QT sexiness, but to each their own, right?)
On the Twidge FAQ page, it also states that the app can be used for Identi.ca and can also be run on a Mac.
I was going to post some screenshots, but..it's the CLI. So you get the idea.
Let me know if you use Twidge, or why you would use it. It's in the Mint / Kubuntu / Ubuntu repositories.
You can also follow me on Twitter, and message me via Twidge =)
