KDE Announces That Plasma 5.15.4 Has Been Released With New Fixes

KDE Plasma Desktop 5.15

Announced today was the immediate availability of KDE Plasma 5.15.4. Representing 3 weeks worth of bug fixes, there were a number of patches coming down with this point release.

Highlights include a lot of attention to KWin, Plasma Desktop, Plasma Workspace, and Discover.

Also getting some love this go-around are Breeze, drkonqi, the Media Frame plasmoid, KInfoCenter, Plasma Networkmanager, and others.

It is worth noting that the amount of fixes and improvements that continue to come in for Discover are quite impressive, and really represent one of the emerging showcase pieces for KDE Plasma in my opinion. It will not be long before we can put Discover right up there with Krita, KDEnlive, or digiKam as some of the highlights of the KDE Plasma universe.

I know some readers give Discover some grief now and again, but if you haven't tried it out lately you might be in for a pleasant shock. Even more so when 5.16 rolls around. The patches come early and often with this one and this has been happening for some time now.

Look for this point release to hit your distribution soon. The next bug fix release is slated for May of this year, while Plasma 5.16.0 will be unleashed on June 11 of this year, bringing a whole slew of new features and improvements with it.

The full 5.15.4 changelog can be found here, and the brief release announcement can be viewed here.

As a reminder, users curious to try out KDE Plasma can now do so as a Snap.
