Showing the Kubuntu community some love, Harald Sitter has made available a tech preview of his Ubuntu One client for the KDE Software Compilation. From the Ubuntu One Launchpad website:
Ubuntu One helps you store, sync and share stuff. With both free and paid subscription levels, Ubuntu One helps you sync your files, share your work with others or work remotely, all with your Ubuntu computer.
Since the initial Ubuntu One client is written for the Gnome desktop, there is a need for a UO client on the KDE side of things, in order to keep the universe in balance. The initial builds are for Kubuntu 9.10 (Karmic) and the upcoming 10.04 LTS releases, available through his repository.
Linux Mint KDE user's will be able to add Ubuntu One KDE upon the release of Linux Mint 8 (Helena) KDE due out shortly*. In the meantime you can of course use the web client without the front end. If you are running the current Linux Mint 8 (Helena) Main addition with the KDE desktop installed, you can try Ubuntu One KDE today.
This application works as of today (for me at least), and the intent is for the program to be fully stable in time for the 10.04 release of Kubuntu (Lucid) next year.
If you have not yet done so, head over to the Ubuntu One website and make a free account. Then you can go to Harald's blog to get Ubuntu One KDE. His website also has some screencasts showing the program in action.
